My payment failed

Common reasons a card payment is declined, and what to do.

Updated 28 Oct 2026

Common reasons

  • Insufficient funds or limits: your bank may limit online, international or large payments.
  • Card not enabled for online payments: some cards need online or international use switched on in your banking app.
  • Bank security check: your bank may have blocked the payment until you confirm it.
  • Typos: an incorrect card number, expiry date or CVV.

What to do

  1. Check your banking app for a declined-payment alert or a confirmation request.
  2. Try again, or use a different card.
  3. If you were charged but your payment shows as failed, don't pay again. Contact billing with the date, amount and the last four digits of the card, and we'll investigate.

Never send your full card number, PIN or one-time code to anyone, including us.
